3 things every coach must know when they are starting their journey.
When I started my journey as a coach in 2013, I never had anyone to handhold & guide me. Whatever I was doing & learning was through mistakes, until 2020. When I found right mentors, I got to know my mistakes and I immediately corrected them.
Even today, when I get queries from my mentees, I see the similar pattern being followed and I feel it’s important for all the new coaches to know & avoid the similar mistakes which delayed my growth for more than 7years.
Here are the 3 mistakes which I kept on doing &, if avoided, can help you scale your coaching business.
◇Go for consistency- For a long time, I was missing this important aspect for growth and never realised its value. Consistency builds confidence, confidence builds acceptance, acceptance builds visibility, visibility builds credibility and credibility builds authority. Unfortunately, many times we start our journey the other way, resulting into frustration.
◇Speak of basics- I always thought that whatever I’m about to share is very basic. It’s already open in the world and why would anybody listen to such basic stuff. But what I was missing is, many times basic things only changes the thought process and also opens new doors of learning & opportunities.
Basics like discipline, consistency, creates habit and habit generates results.
From my mistakes I understood is, we don’t need any complex information to change the world, we just need simple things done right.
◇Avoid self rejection- This must have happened with someone who is reading this now. They had an amazing idea, got good momentum, started building program around that idea, but suddenly self rejection came in mind and everything stalled. Is it relatable? If yes, then you aren’t alone. Even I had this experience.
Solution to this is immediate massive action. You have an idea, immediately work on it and launch it out. I’m not saying it’ll work like magic but it’ll give you speed for sure. Even if it’s not workable, you’ll have a faster result and you can correct it and relaunch it. Let the audience tell you, if your idea is worth investment or not. Fail fast, don’t wait for perfection, perfection is perception. It evolves over time.
Work on these 3 key aspects and let me know how is your coaching business taking shape.
I’m sure, if it can work for me, it can work for you.
