Isn’t it so true?
We all are naturally inclined towards positivity and all positive things, but while growing up, we get conditioned in a way that we start connecting more with negativity and negative thoughts.
This may happen to anyone because of life experiences, association with people, and how they make us feel.
Sometimes, it is just the perception, and sometimes it’s someone else’s experience which we treat to be true or we learn from it.
As a coach, I have personally experienced this when people have questioned me for various reasons. I don’t and shouldn’t blame anyone for that simply because we reflect what we have within us.
I firmly believe that we always have a choice. A choice of choosing what to take and what to leave.
I don’t stop anyone from having an opinion, but if you are beginning your journey as a coach, I always say this, have an evaluated opinion.
Before believing anything, ask questions, guage everything on every parameter, and apply logic and common sense. Is it time-consuming? Ofcourse Yes. Is it worth it? Absolutely, yes.
Why? Simply because when we don’t have an opinion of self, we easily get opinionated, and that is the worst thing to happen to anyone as a coach.
In simple words, be it good or bad, nice or not so nice, if we hear anything about anyone, have the courage to reach out and ask questions. It’s better to have uncomfortable conversations than to lose a precious person.
As a coach, it’s very important for a person to dig as deep as possible and get the right information so that we can help our client. Of course, it won’t happen overnight, and we may not be comfortable in asking questions, but there is nothing that can’t be learnt with time and practice. Also, it takes time to understand how to ask the right questions that can lead us to unsaid answers and unseen scenarios, even before we ask it.
Agree?
What are your thoughts?
I’m curious to know.
